139 – Alexandra Handley

Proverbs 31:23-28:
Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. She makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants.

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.

Some people overflow with raw goodness. It’s like everything they touch becomes more beautiful because they’ve put a little bit of themselves into it. Alex is one of those people. Give her a box of junk that you were going to throw away and she’s going to use it to make something creative and new.

I really don’t think it’s possible to leave her presence without feeling better. She is a constant encourager and listens without watching the minutes tick by. Simply put, she loves well.

Romans 8:26-28:
Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Alex is blessed and highly favored. She does all things well. Focused and determined, she doesn’t let anything deter her from her purpose. Yet, she will not hesitate to deviate to help a friend or stranger, as that is intertwined with her calling. She is a lover of people. She is a boss with goals, dreams, and ambition. She is an entrepreneur with more talent than one person should be allowed to have. She can make the most amazing meals out of the simplest ingredients. She doesn’t miss a chance to shower someone with a needed gift or note. She is wickedly funny. She is honest.

Alex, you are a blank canvas. You are allowing Him to fill the canvas with wild colors, making strokes and shapes that you weren’t capable of on your own. You’re being refilled and redefined and retuned. The melodies are rising and it’s only a matter of short time before they burst forth, with so much strength and purpose. Lean into Him. He will not let you down and He cannot lie.
